So the New Year has started with some ups and downs for us, but mostly ups!
THE GOOD:
I finally got a new job, which I love! I can work from a home office, make my own schedule, and book appointments with clients as I see fit! I'm selling websites and search engine optimization packages to small & mid-size business here in the LA Area, and it's worked out perfectly. I've always wanted the opportunity to be home as much as possible with my kids, and this job allows me to do just that!
Matt also passed his state certification test, so he's now a licensed electrician! We've got to get through the next three months until he graduates from the apprenticeship program, and becomes a journeyman. That also comes with a hefty pay increase, which we definitely need.
My kids are amazing, smart & beautiful. I feel blessed with the two I have, and I've finally made some peace with the misscarriage I suffered in December. They are turning 5 and 3 in a couple of months, and are both having a blast planning their birthday parties. I can't wait!
We went to Big Bear this weekend and stayed with some friends in their cabin. It was so much fun playing in the snow. Radley wants to be a snowboarder when he grows up, and Bella is such a daredevil. I almost had a heartattack several times watching her fly down these hills, laughing her head off the whole time.
I've lost 28 lbs since Jan 1st!
THE BAD:
Money, money, money. We are just broke. Flat-out. We've got a few hundred in our savings, and that's it. Me being out of work for these past few months has really hurt us. Luckily my new paychecks will start rolling in next week, and we will be able to catch up. I hate owing money to people!
California's economy is so awful that we most likely won't see our state tax return for another 4-5 months, and I filed in January! That's $1700 we could really use right now.
Losing weight is expensive-- I am running out of clothes that fit!
See, the good really does outweigh the bad! All in all, we are fine & blessed, and really lucky to have the life we do. I hope that the same is true for you and your families.
