Definitely sick. I just woke up from a nap without a voice and every joint in my body aching like crazy. Ugh. That's what happens when you end up having to wait 2.5 hours for a scrip to be filled at a super-busy public clinic pharmacy. I'm sure I picked it up from one of the dozen people I ended up sitting next to. Blech. I called Mom and she's being wonderful and picking up nice, soft kleenex, soup, and cough drops at the store after her shift ends at 11:30. When I called her, all I said was, "hi" and she said, "What's going on with you????" I'm just glad that only the minor sniffly stage was going on last night at the concert so I could still be there to see Doug. I just hope I didn't unknowingly pass on my cold.
In other news, I just got a lovely email from the woman who runs the knitting group at my church. They had put out a call to everyone to make scarves to be blessed and handed out to the homeless the church helps in the area (they run a breakfast for the local homeless during the week, so she passed out the scarves this morning). I ended up knitting something like 35 over the course of the last few months. Here's a picture of some of them:
I told her that now that all the scarves are gone, I'm kind of without a reason to knit, and to let me know if there are other projects for their outreach ministries I can make - more scarves, prayer shawls, chemo caps, etc.
This was so fun to do and so enjoyable to know that all of these were going to be used to keep people warm this winter. I included some shawls I had made in the giant box I dropped off at the church the other day, and she says that they will be given out in their prayer shawl ministry to those in the medical center who need them, which is so rewarding.
