OMG. So, as always, money is tight. My paid account expired today. I had to go ask Mom for the $20 to reactivate it. She said, "Do you really need it?" UM YES. My reasons included, 1) this is the way I vent my frustrations and feelings about things when I can't talk to Monica, 2) I have friends that I keep up with through LJ, 3) it's one of my main ways to socialize, 4) do you want me to go mental??
She still thinks that LJ is a lame way to have a life. I disagree. The friends I've made here keep me sane. Just having the ability to write about whatever is going on in my head, be it good or bad, is fantastic. To see other people write about their lives, good and bad, helps me feel like my life isn't as bad as I sometimes feel it is. This is a social circle for me just as much as my one on Facebook as one IRL. Since I'm kind of house bound right now, the friends on LJ and Facebook are the ways I maintain relationships outside of Mom and Sis. She has never understood the whole meeting people on the internet and calling them friends thing. I used to argue vehemently about how those relationships are just as real as one where you meet face-to-face every so often. Now I just don't care if she gets it, as long as it keeps me happy. (PROGRESS!)
