My best wishes to you and whatever collection of friends and family you are celebrating (or not) with this year. I hope you are enjoying your day, whether it's watching football, eating, reading, writing, or just lazing around - or any combination of the above.
I wanted to say especially that I'm thankful for all of you, my LJ friends. I appreciate you being there, reading my posts of happiness, complaints, and woe, and being supportive through the tough times while being happy for me during the good ones. Also, forgiving me my comma splices and other annoying grammar habits. Having this journal helps my sanity, and just knowing that there are people out there reading my random thoughts is a nice thought to have.
In other news, we're just about to get hit by a serious cold front. It's currently 80° outside. Once the front passes, it'll drop 30° within an hour or so. The nearby places that the front has just passed through are sitting at 50
°. We're going to end up in the upper 30s by morning. Friday night into Saturday, our area is forecast to hit freezing. Summer to winter in an hour. Mother Nature has been drunk or high this past few months. "Make it Summer! Now Autumn! Winter for 12 hours! Summer again! Winter! Autumn! Summer! Winter!" Either that or she's just decided to say, "Fuck it," and is choosing seasons and temperatures by a giant wheel o' weather. We've just started getting the splotchy rain along and ahead of the front. Austin, where the UT vs. A&M game's being played this year, has already dipped into the 50s. Poor Mom had to bring a ridiculous amount of layers with her to work, since it was 82° when she left, and it'll be about 40° when she comes home.
