From yesterday:

-- I accidentally cracked the mounting for Mom's driver's side sun visor in her car completely and there's now no shade in the windshield. And, naturally, the replacement costs $75. I texted Mom to let her know once I got to the clinic, apologizing profusely. She actually responded with an, "It happens," instead of what I was expecting which was some form of anger. My karmic punishment was to have to drive eastbound into the rising sun all the way to the clinic. It was horrid.

--Monica seems to be having some issues which seems to be affecting her ability to deal with me a little. That's not cool. And, on top of that, she's not going to adopt Brie as she said she would a month ago. Mom and Sarah are now rather cranky about Monica which pisses me off because they're talking about a woman I trust a lot.

--It was in the upper 40s for a low Thursday into Friday, and this morning, it's only 40° at 9am. The central heat's on for the first time since early this year.

--I voted! Unfortunately, it was a little more laborious process that I had hoped. See, I used vote411.com (the League of Women Voters website) to do the research to find which candidate I wanted to vote for in each race, as I mentioned in previous posts. That was pretty useful. I printed out the info they e-mailed me so I could take the list to the booth and use it to make sure I was picking the right person, since I wasn't voting a straight ticket. However, I got frustrated because of two things: 1) the "customized" ballot actually wasn't correct. It was missing a few races and had county propositions that I didn't have to vote for listed. 2) the actual ballot went in numerical order by district number for all of the judicial races, whereas the sample ballot I printed broke down the judicial races by type (appeals, criminal district, civil district, etc.) so I had to constantly shuffle papers in order to find the right race. Also, I hate the e-slate voting machines with the dial as the selector. Touch screen would make SO MUCH MORE SENSE and not confuse all the old people around me who had to ask for help.

--Today is the Baylor game at home. They're retiring Colt McCoy's #12 today. It's also Alumni Band Day. This means that, most likely, my ex-boyfriend, Chris, will be at the game playing tuba. (He's the one who got me into UT football in the first place. As he was just fresh out of Longhorn Band when I met him, he basically told me that if I wanted to continue to date him, I had to learn how to at least appreciate football. Now I'm a ridiculous fan.) I'm really hoping that we win, although, at this point, I just don't know. I mean, Baylor's #25 in the polls and we're unranked. Which is so wrong I have no words for it.

--I'm watching C-SPAN waiting for the live stream of the Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear. Can't wait!

--Finally, I saw something super-cool yesterday: the truck Billy Bob drove in Varsity Blues.

I wish I could find better pictures. One of my neighbor's owns it. This movie memorabilia piece is rather special to me since I actually was an extra in the movie (we went and spent 12 hours filming the football scenes in a local high school stadium and in one scene you can see us (Mom, Sis, and me) behind the actors on the sidelines. Pretty spiffy.
