YAY!!
Mom heard my explanation of my need for a computer! My old one (a 6-yr-old Dell hand-me-down from the exgf) has died because my CPU fan did. Spoke to several geeks at Best Buy and at a shop in Austin that only do Dell fixes and both said the better thing to do would be to go ahead and upgrade. Putting in a cpu fan by myself isn't gonna happen. And paying someone to replace the part would cost several hundred. Which means it's more cost-effective to go ahead and put an extra $100 into getting the newest technology to last me another five years.
So she bought me a new Dell Inspiron packed with the latest stuff. !!!! I didn't think shed actually do it. I'm pleased she did.
I think it helped that she and I ran errands yesterday and made it through 12 hours without a single angry word. There was total communication. I was amazed and pleased to know that it's possible for us to get along.
Of course, my body isn't happy about walking all around Home Depot and Kroger, but it's a small price to pay.

Also!!! UT kicked Wyoming's ass yesterday. Great game. I'm sad that Penn State was crushed so hard by Bama, and I'm happy to see that Ohio State had their hands full with the Hurricaines.
