Just spoke to USPS customer service. I had called the regular tracking phone number to see if there was more info by phone than online. The automated system (one of those voice ones that never seem to be able to understand me) told me that there was no information to be had. I did not like that news at all. So I had to lie my way through the system in order to get to speak to a live person, since if I chose "track and confirm" I was sent right back to the automated voice system that couldn't tell me anything. After telling the system I had to ask a question about buying stamps, I got a very nice person named Jennifer. I explained the problem and she was "happy to help" me. It turns out that the center in Ft. Worth didn't enter my zip code when they processed the package. She promised that the missing info wouldn't cause a delay or mis-delivery. I was appalled that a step that might be critical to getting the damn thing to my house was skipped. She told me that today was technically the first day the package is being shipped and thus to expect it tomorrow or Saturday. She said that if I didn't get it by Saturday afternoon, to call back and see what's happened. She did say that since it requires a signature, it should be only delivered to my house. I told her about my experience with FedEx delivering a signature-required package to the doppelganger house, where the doppelganger family signed for it. Why they did that, I don't know. So a signature isn't a guarantee that it's going to come to our house, though I hope that the Doppelgangers won't take our packages again.
I am so impatient! Sis was giving me a hard time about my whining about not having my phone yet. I told her it's because this is my first updated and fairly new piece of technology in a couple of years. That excites me like crazy. My inner geek is going mental and doing a little geeky dance of joy.
