Just had to brag a little

I've mentioned and probably complained in the past about my postage stamp-sized room. Seriously, it's probably about 11'x11' with a corner missing, because for some reason, the builders decided that it would be better to seriously reduce the square footage in order to place the door most elegantly instead of most use. My full-size sleigh bed and dresser (both family antiques) take up over half of the room. That leaves about 5' to do anything else. My window is 3' and dominates the rest of my wall. To try and put any more furniture in is next to impossible. I tossed around the idea of putting in one of our old papasan chairs, but realized that it would take up almost the rest of my floor space, leaving none for me to use when painting, which was not cool. I discovered a solution quite out of the blue about 2 weeks ago: this patio lounger. I found it when, on a complete whim, I flipped through the junk mail ads that always appear in the mailbox.

I just tried it out for the first time (in the kitchen, because it's currently the only place with enough room). I damn near fell asleep in it. It can recline to the point where your head is actually a teensy bit lower than your knees! So awesome. It's ergonomically designed, so it constantly stays in that comfortable reclined, knees bent slightly position. And, because it's a patio chair, it folds up! Thus, when I want to paint or do other crafts on the floor, I can just fold up the thing and either prop it up against the wall or put it in the closet! I R SMRT.

Now to find a cheap skinny and tall bookcase to store my books....

Oh.. on an only mildly related note: I found out today that AT&T UVerse service is really stupid. I downgraded our plan to fewer channels but added Showtime because I watch all of their shows. It turns out that that lower package, for some idiotic reason, doesn't include DiscoveryID and the NASATV channels. RANDOM missing channels are RANDOM. Upgrading back to the package we had (with those two channels and ALL of the movie channels, not just Showtime) actually only cost $1 more than what we were paying for the lower package plus Showtime. I explained all of this to Mom, and she agreed that that was stupid. So I fixed it. I don't understand AT&T at all. (When calling, most of the time you end up with someone that isn't American. This gets frustrating, not because of a language barrier, but because for some reason, the customer service people over there are taught TO TALK CONSTANTLY. This gets highly annoying very quickly. There have been times where I've said, "I don't need you to tell me every minute that you're happy to help me with this. I get it. Please just do the task without the repetitive narration." I confess, I also now tend to sing the Geoff Petersen "My Name is Scooter" Twitter Jingle from Craig's show when I reach a foreign representative. I'm so evil. For those of you who don't watch Craig, this is what I'm talking about.)
