Happy Valentine's Day!
I'm having a good day. The guy Heather wants to work with in Houston for her doctorate is here giving a talk, so we went to that. We're having dinner with him in about 45 minutes. He seems like a really nice person. I really hope she can come back to Texas. I really don't want to move to Arizona.
So that's our V-Day. She keeps apologizing for "ruining" it. I keep telling her it's a hell of a lot more important to go rub elbows with the guy she wants to work with for a good long while than to cook me steaks at home (which was the original plan). We can do that any time. Anyway, she got us tickets to go see Rent on Friday night. I told her that we'll just make that our Valentine's day instead.
