This was lovely, I think you captured the white noise in Sherlock's thoughts very well.
Just one minor point that, to be honest, I still haven't worked out: Does John have blue or brown eyes. They look brown for the most part, but sometimes I think maybe not? I looked for pics of Martin Freeman, but they weren't close enough or he's got his eyes all screwed up. Or something. Thoughts?

I googled this, and found various references to Martin Freeman's eyes as brown, hazel, grey, or green! Someone needs to get a close look...

The grey thing would explain why they're occasionally reported as blue. =/ It's difficult to gauge though. I might go with grey. Any other comments?

Eye colour's often difficult to agree - we see Sherlock's very clearly, but I've seen them described as blue, grey and green. (Which sort of reflects my own experience; I grew up believing the people who told me my eyes were blue, until one day I looked in the mirror and thought "No they're not, they're grey!" But some days I look very hard and see flecks of green, or yellow, or even brown.)

Maybe the tweeters can put in a request for the next series to show a big close-up of John's eyes, so we can screen-cap them for leisurely analysis?

Hahaha.
I dread to think- they must get a lot of requests for 'close ups'.
Gah, Sherlock's eyes are a constant thorn in my side- they're not nearly as pale as a lot of people make out and where are they getting green from? >.>
Also, slinking round the internets, reports from people who have actually met the guy (wtf?) say it's blue-grey. Or... Magic. Apparently.
Ahem.

They're very pale some of the time. I haven't detected much green, though on the basis of analysing my own I'm willing to believe that if you were in the fortunate position of being able to examine Benedict Cumberbatch's eyes from a distance of a few inches you might find anything in there. Ditto Martin Freeman. Irises are marvellous things.

Hurr. I don't think I could look into their eyes for a long time without undignified giggling like a school-girl.
Nice icon. :p

We now seem to have definitive evidence, with several pictures, and it is indeed blue!

Thank you. =)

I wasn't sure at first and even wrote them as blue out of habit since my mind thought I was describing Sherlock or somethin' but settled for hazel since I think his eyes look a mixture of green and brown... though I haven't got a closer look at them.

Someone sent me a picture where they were sort of blue-grey, which is what I've decided to go with.
I think they're magic, personally, they just change with the lighting/mood/jumper...

Oh, great. The pictures I have with him don't give me a clear idea what his eyes colour is.

Agree with you. =)
