{I know that it's my fault you don't understand...}
He sighs, the barley plant falling out of his mouth. He reached for his Dranzer, while you were raring to start the beybattle already. You had that determined look in your eyes again; the same one you had when you stubbornly tried to get him to talk for the first time. Kai didn't like it back then, but like all things, he got used to it.
He could never admit the nostalgic feelings that returned when you weren't around.
It was traitorous and vile; the lonely memories that threatened to manifest him again...
His heart was sewn shut. It was the only thing he was sure of until your unpredictable character came into the picture.
"Hey, don't space off! Are you ready, Kai?" Came your impatient voice, cutting through his thoughts.
Kai smirks, trying to position his blade.
"Ready."
But his soul broke loose with the rip of the blade.

{I see different shades now and I'm almost never afraid now}
The old Cloud would've given up and chalk this as another tragedy in his already tragic life. The old Cloud would've once again lost hope in fairness and justice.
But that Cloud seems like yesterday's news. Before he met her.
So when her grip on his arm loosened, he only increased his strength. And when she looked at him sadly, he only continued smiling foolishly. It wasn't over until it was over.
"Cloud. Let go." She almost whispers, almond eyes tearing up.
He was losing her. It wasn't over until it was over.
"No!" She slipped completely from him,
but Cloud's hands remained there, as if they didn't realize the gravity of the situation.
He could still feel her presence with him.
No. It wasn't over until it was over.
