Homepage Decisions

I'm tired of my homepage. You know that page that loads when you open up your browser to the internet? For the last 2 years or so I've had mine set on Digg, and while I can still find good stories on there, the amount of stupid stories and bad sites have increased and I'm just not as enthused with the site as I was before.

So now I am looking for ( Read more... )

I just have mine set to Google. I tend to ignore my start page, though, whatever it is, so I don't really put much thought into it. XD

I think if I set mine to Google I'd have to search for something every time. I have a need for my page to do something, I'm weird that way. :)

Mine's my email... but I tend to leave the set of tabs I had up last on Firefox (usually email, LJ friends, whatever entries I haven't had time to read/comment on) - it works as a homepage in some ways.

I've done that before with the tabs when I am really busy the night before and didn't get through pages, it's really convenient. :)

I am a boring person who starts off with Google, but I also have a quicklist for my favorite sites in the Firefox toolbar. So it's always Gmail-LJ-Facebook-Deviantart-Youtube-Horoscope, lol.

Anyway, how about Google Reader? It works as a feed reader - I use it mostly for the art blogs I keep an eye on, which are pretty much all on Blogger - but it also gives you site recommedations accordingly to the feeds you already subscribed to.

I like the toolbar in FF too. I put the sites I go to most often up there so I can be lazy and just click there. XD

I have never used Google Readers or feeds in general. I don't get how they work. What does it look like? I think its probably something I would be interested in.

Well, the layout is very Gmail-like with a sidebar listing the feeds you subscribed to, and a main frame where, instead of emails, you get the subject lines of the newest posts. And then you read the posts *inside* Google Reader which is what made me use it in the first place - I found out I *am* annoyed by the stats (i.e. where the last 10 visitors come from, etc.) showing up on many blogs... I want to see my favorite sites without the owner necessarily knowing if I check them out once a week or once a day. And... it's like having another LJ friendspage for all those sites that aren't on LJ but I like to keep an eye on.

Mine is Google. XD I know it's boring, but it's one of the webpages I need the most. I saved everything else in the favorite list.

I actually suggest setting one url you visit often, or one that you check as soon as you open the Internet. ^^

I think I should change my homepage too, since the sites I use the most are a RPG one, Youtube (for songs) and LJ.

You too! Everyone seems to be on google, haha! xD

I probably would too but I have the little google search on my browser that I can type into. If I put a most visited site first it would probably be like LJ or gmail or twitter but I think I might end up trying out google reader.

I don't know what i want. lol.

I've got that too! °ò° *surprised* I should use it more often, uh? It's just I'm too used to the giant google homepage. xD
