Watch List

I've been slowing going through the first episodes of anime series, like i mentioned in a previous entry, and frighteningly I'm barely 1/4 of the way through my list.  I thought I'd just list some of the observations I've made on the last few shows I've watched.

Gunparade Orchestra - This is the sequel to Gunparade March.  I did not see the first series, but the images I had seen had always intrigued me.  Should be a short series, I think the first was only 13 episodes.  Right now it reminds me of an early era Gundam style show mixed with Evangelion aspects.  Those beasts totally make me think of Angels.  No special feeling watching it but I'll stick with it.

Aria the Animation - This is the first series, i think there was a sequel made but I'm not sure.  If you're looking for a quiet, low-key anime, this seems to be the one for you.  I suspect there is more to this series than is shown in the first episode given the slight comments they've given that this is a new water planet and that there's space travel, as I can't imagine this will only be about the girls and their gondolas.  Or maybe it is, never know with the Japanese. lol.  I'll continue on this one because it pulls my curiosity strings with its low-key start.

Blood+ - Not a series for me.  It just oozes the dark and dreary.  Basically the main character is a girl who used to be a killing machine I guess, but something happened that caused her to forget and basically she's with this family now who lost their daughter/sister and she took her place or something?  The art style reminded me a bit of Gantz and maybe mixed with Witch Hunter Robin.

Lamune - The wiki categorizes it as a 'slice of life' show, and I think that accurately describes it.  It's about a boy and a girl, neighbors who grow up together, and one of their summer's is the focus.  I thought Aria was low-key but this beat it by a mile.  I think if I didn't have a list of shows to watch and very little time on my hands maybe I'd watch the entire series (only 12 episodes) but I just can't put myself through it.  And I think it's a good thing because I saw a note written by someone comparing it to Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien and seeing the last episode I can see where they got that, although this one had a happier ending in my eyes and wasn't as tragic (couldn't stand Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien).
Here's the other stuff I watched the first episode of a few weeks ago and forgot to comment on at the time, either I'll be watching the entire series or I'll be watching a few more episodes to see if it's worth watching the series.  Any series that I didn't decide to follow won't be mentioned, which there were a few (Eyeshield 21, Koi Kaze - read the manga instead).

Definitely Watching: Kanokon, Kimi ga Aruji de Shitsuji ga Ore de, Kodomo no Jikan, Rosario + Vampire, To Love Ru, Kenkou Zenrekai Suieibu Umisho, Sumomomo Momomo, Ergo Proxy, Makai Senki Disgaea, Shakugan no Shana, Happy Seven

Still deciding: Amaenaideyo, Chocotto Sister, Tona-Gura!, Tsuyokiss, Jinki: Extend, Xenosaga the Animation, Fighting Beauty Wulong
