WWLA 2008 Day 1
Skrulls invade Los Angeles! (Or Bob Gale, Marc Guggenheim, Steve Wacker & Jim McCann)
Day 1 consisted of making a walk through the retailers, looking at the guests how came and attending 3 panels. Unfortunately the last panel ran long and prevented me from going to see if I could get a picture with John Wesley Shipp (TV's the Flash & Dawson's dad) since he was only going to be there today. Everyone else I can still get during the weekend.
SPIDER-MAN'S BRAND NEW DAY PANEL
starring Bob Gale, Marc Guggenheim, Steve Wacker & Jim McCann
- Got shown a scene from Guggenheim's TV show, Eli Stone, which looks interesting. I'll have to look for it.
- Dan Slott called in through Guggenheim's iphone.
- Chris Bachalo joining the expanding Amazing art crew. Not excited.
- Joe Kelly joining the expanding Amazing writing crew. Can't remember the last thing I've read of his.
- Marvel doesn't hate Mary Jane. Mentions Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane. (Jokes that it should be called Marvel Loves Mary Jane) My hope rises that this will exist sometime in the future.
- Mike Mckone joining the Amazing art crew. I hope this doesn't mean an exclusive. I love his DC work.
- JRJR coming to Amazing.
DC NATION PANEL (no art shown)

- Nice discussion about the 4th world and why DC is closing that chapter. Bruce Wayne as New God is silly. - Didio
- Didio talks about how his Godzilla and Mothra ringtones made a CMX meeting with some Japanese people interesting.
- Calls the Blue Beetle storyline in Booster Gold basically a 'What if?'.
- Apparently Vandal Savage is doing well for himself in Salvation Run. I must check this out.
- JSA max roster around 24. I'd like to read the book but I have too many already.
- New artist coming to Green Arrow & Black Canary. Name slips my mind.
- JSA Classified coming to an end.
- A lot of Titans love at the panel. So happy about that. Even Didio seemed to be pumped.
- New Titans book compared to friends, more about comraderie than fighting for a cause. I'm excited. Also this means Roy is staying on JLA.
- Tons of Dick love. No love for Jason. Great audience.
- Dick or Tim best suited to be the next Batman.
CUP OF JEPH PANEL
starring Jeph Loeb, Jim McCann & Tim Sale + family
- Loeb is a very funny and endearing man. I'm excited for Secret Invasion and will be buying Hulk now, just from listening to him talk.
- Loeb making fun of Mark Millar's scottish accent & Quesada's weight loss proving that he's a skrull.
- Hulk # 3 vs A-Bomb
- King Sized Hulk vs Wendigo
- Frank Cho getting in on the Hulk
- Ultimate Origins by Bendis followed by Loeb's Ultimatum
- Tim Sale is coming back to Marvel and making Captain America: White with Jeph Loeb
- Change to Ultimate X-men after Kirkman starting on #94.
- Quesada called in.
- Third season of Heroes still labeled 'Villains'
