I'm so damn sick right now. I worked all weekend and Monday, and I started feeling sick Sunday morning, and by Monday I was a train wreck. I'm just glad I had a half day Monday, because my voice left me later that night. So right now my plans for the rest of this week is to rest up, get well again and catch up on the last few days of things happening here on LJ because I was just so darn busy this weekend with work.
I had to go through my friends list about 35 pages deep last night just to mark down everything I want to read that I'd missed, and that's not counting the three or four pages I added today from updates. I plan to start on that shortly after I finish this entry and spread the comment love. As far as I know you can't spread germs that way. lol.
On my writing, I've been making progress on the Metropolis prologue, but depending on how long it gets with everything I want to put in the introduction, I might turn it into like a 4 chapter story that leads into Metropolis Chapter 1. After that, I'm planning on finishing Chapter 12 of Dumbledore's Secret and see where else I'll go from there. I'm a bit stuck with Chapter 1 of Konoha's Protector, I've got two ideas to go with it and neither one is really winning so I put it on the back burner until I finish the other chapters.
On more of a fandom note, those who have paid attention might realize that I'm not a big fan of the Spider-man movie franchise. Yes, I'll watch them (most likely on DVD than in theatres) but I was really disappointed with just how much of Spider-man 2 was spent with Spider-man having his mask off. A lot more than it should have been and it reminded me of the Daredevil movie with Ben Affleck, where the worst part of that movie for me was just how much they had him removing his mask. It's something studios like to do because they pay for the actors, they want their faces in the movie, but it just doesn't work well with masked heroes.
Anyway, onto Spider-Man 3 which is coming out this May, and will probably do ridiculously well because people seem to have a huge hard-on for Spider-Man -- SLIGHTLY SPOILIERISH -- They introduce the Symbiote in the movie, which preludes Peter Parker donning a black version of his costume. And I have to say the
movie version pales in comparison to the
comic book style. They just change the uniform to black, and slightly widen the legs of the spider on the uniform, unlike the comic book where he has a lot larger, and very white, spider on it.
So as I feared, this pointed to the direction that SM3's Venom would be sub par as well with my expectations. And
with the statue that just got advanced soliciation, it looks like I'm right. The head looks pretty good, but the rest of the body pales in comparison to the
comic book version, which was much larger and not with that sub par movie costume. Which also disappointed me when they cast Topher Grace as Eddie Brock and not someone much larger.
