Have I ever actually officially told you all I had a Dreamwidth account? I mean, I've been crossposting from there for a while but sometimes those little links that say its been crossposted are easy to ignore.
Well, I'll mention it now: I have Dreamwidth. Same username. Same everything, though now i have to go revamp my tagging system like I did here with LJ a while back. I also need to transport all my icons. Yay for the holidays and the time to do it.
So. This is gonna get me shot...but....The new comment style is actually kinda pretty.
From the perspective of someone who did a tiny bit of programing for 2 semesters of schooling before leaving because design is a pain in the ass it doesn't look terrible.
But I do agree with the general dislike running around the site. It's an update that didn't really need to be done, on a platform that's no longer going to have continued development (Flash was always a bitch to code anyways and I didn't get the hang of it). I like that you can just press the "x" in the corner if you decided you don't want to make a comment instead of either reloading the page or ignoring you've clicked reply until you leave the page.
BUT WHAT IS IT WITH SITES AND MAKING DEFAULT SYTLE BIG, BLOCKY, AND CHILDISH LOOKING?? Not that the new comments look all that childish, but if the style and spacing was any bigger it would be childish like Megaupload's new style look. (And let me tell you. I feel like I should be 5 whenever I'm over there. And it's too bright an orange. They need a new design team or something.)
On a slightly related (ranting) note
---Oh fuck you LJ, you've made everything work so damn slooooooow now! I can't get preview to load, "select tags"....what's the point in having all this shiny stuff if they don't work because your damn code is inefficient?!?! And to post this I had to resort to DW crossposting even though I don't like posting RL rants on DW!
