Yesterday it was so nasty out that I abandoned my bike ride and took the train instead--it just wasn't worth arriving at my appointment chilled, soaked, and windblown.

Today it was spring.

Lovely sunshiny photos! Our weather remains mixed in the UK; bright sunshine one moment and a wintry (sleet) shower the next. But although we've had record-breaking wind and rain, we've also had a warm winter. I remain cautious about its being spring yet.

I've been following the UK weather news a little bit, and it seems like it's been pretty trying in the last several weeks.

I have to remind myself that every single year in February we all declare "Spring!" and then winter comes again for a few more weeks. It came again today.

I wouldn't be too hasty about hustling out the lumber; at least some of it can be re-used in the new layout.

The new layout will be particleboard, foil, melamine and glass, courtesy of IKEA. There's one solid sheet of heavy plywood in the closet that I'll have a use for, and I'm preserving the baseboards (I think...if I can) but otherwise I'm planning to send everything to the Rebuilding Center, where it will have a shot at a second life.
