My Dinner With Serenity_Valley

serenity_valley came over for dinner last night. I don't have people over much--partly from space limitations and partly from not having all that many friends, but mostly from diffidence--and it's lovely to know people like serenity_valley: easy to entertain, lives nearby, likes the same kinds of food I do, and lots to talk about. We ate (I made a kind of impromptu salade niçoise only with thin sautéed pork slices instead of tuna) and talked (Comicon, Joss directing "The Avengers," fandom, personal growth, work), and then we spent a thrilling hour going over the features of her brand new Droid X phone. I want I want I want. I am so ready to make the jump. I'm just waiting either for an unlocked version, or for my provider to offer one on its network. It's surprising, what will constitute the tipping-point in a case like this, and for me, last night, it was one little Android app: the Firefly Soundboard. It's a nothing part, until you don't got one: it's just a collection of great soundbites from Firefly and Serenity (plus one great one from Castle) that you can select and play.
