serenity_valley came over for dinner last night. I don't have people over much--partly from space limitations and partly from not having all that many friends, but mostly from diffidence--and it's lovely to know people like
serenity_valley: easy to entertain, lives nearby, likes the same kinds of food I do, and lots to talk about.
We ate (I made a kind of impromptu salade niçoise only with thin sautéed pork slices instead of tuna) and talked (Comicon, Joss directing "The Avengers," fandom, personal growth, work), and then we spent a thrilling hour going over the features of her brand new
Droid X phone.
I want I want I want. I am so ready to make the jump. I'm just waiting either for an unlocked version, or for my provider to offer one on its network.
It's surprising, what will constitute the tipping-point in a case like this, and for me, last night, it was one little Android app: the Firefly Soundboard.
It's a nothing part, until you don't got one: it's just a collection of great soundbites from Firefly and Serenity (plus one great one from Castle) that you can select and play. The only thing it does is make you smile and go \o/. And that's not nothin'.
