I'm simply going to have to accept it: since the big turnover in project management, this place is officially No Fun At All.
Today, at yet another near-
haiku-inducing meeting, the project lead posted the following work schedule for the next five weeks:
Monday - 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Tuesday - 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Wednesday - 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Thursday - 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Friday - "Maybe you can leave a little early."
The project lead's superpowers, Reiteration and Droning, grow stronger when he's nervous. And when he announced this work schedule to all of us much older, much more laid-back career bureaucrats today, well...let's just say that he's beginning to feel the burn of our superpower, Attitude, and he's getting really nervous.
Before the meeting was over, I came thisclose to raising my hand and saying, "So, will I be getting a bonus to buy myself a wife?"
It's going to get uglier before it gets any prettier. I'm thinking limericks next.
