I am so angry right now.
I called Progressive to cancel our auto insurance policy because we got a MUCH better rate with a local insurance company that will also insure our soon-to-be home. (Try about 40% less.)
Of course, the customer service rep was trying to get me to not cancel and see if all of our information was correct and get us a comparable rate with them.
Turns out, we were paying a much higher rate because when we moved to Wisconsin they put in our policy that we did not have insurance coverage before we moved to Wisconsin.
Ummm, we were insured with Progressive before we moved to Wisconsin.
Sellers and I have no recourse because they sent us a declarations page. We looked at it to make sure the coverage was the same but, we didn't look at it to make sure they said we had insurance before we moved to Wisconsin because we were insured with THEM!
Uggghhh, just a friendly reminder to read EVERYTHING.
p.s. I just looked at the declarations page on-line, and I see nothing about not being previously insured - I am sure they can invent something else to explain why we can't get a refund of the excess money we paid due to their mistake.
