Yeh, it’s interesting. I’m waiting for everything to kick off and I’m enjoying seeing everyone again, realising how genuinely lovely people are. For example, Justin and I were doing massages today at the ‘LGBT Detox’ morning and I was watching his movements, amazingly gentle and very focused. Something I should really aim towards in my own massage which, while methodical, does not yet cater to the individual- it’s quite strong and mechanical, but my approach is flawed. I have much to learn. It does seem like more of a lifestyle choice than a skill- the philosophy behind it frowns upon clear distinctions between the biological body and mind- or at least that we can expect our bodies to maintain themselves while we throw shit at them. In this case, I am swimming in hypocrisy, but there you go.
People keep suprising me. following the meeting last night, I sat in falmer bar with everyone else and finally had a proper conversation with Lisa, who turned out to be calmly but wryly leftie and drew upon various experiences in a multiple of social spheres- but managed to do so without coming across like she was ticking boxes or name dropping. Excellent stuff.
The SUDS auditions were today/yesterday, and I left Tinu at Falmer house, unable to deal with the cliqueness of it all. Some other drama group are auditioning for Sarah Kane’s ‘Cleansed’ tomorrow so I might go along and probe them to see if I can do their set. It’s so much less stressy than learning lines. I would like to have a stab at acting again though, just to keep fresh and more so, out of curiosity.
Sculpture begins again early next month. I cannot fucking wait.
