So today I went to a friend's birthday party, had Mongolian food and did (or attempted) karaoke-ing. It wasn't bad actually.. I sang more than I had in previous karaoke experiences. For some reason I was actually enjoying myself despite all the high-note cracks and embarrassing moments.
Sometimes I just wonder.. why is it that some people can sing with a full voice right away when I have to get warmed up for at least two hours? Why is it that my voice is so weak I have to use my throat voice most of the time? Why are opera stuff easier to sing than pop stuff? I totally fail at karaokeing.. the only thing that's keeping me from being the worst singer ever is that I don't go off key, which is primarily due to the fact that I'm an instrumentalist and have somewhat good ears.
Despite everything, I can't wait till my own birthday to go to a karaoke place for some real japanese songs, which means I have to start gathering romaji lyrics again XD I seriously don't know a lot of American pop... it is sad.. like if you look in my Ipod, there's about 5 English pop songs, more folk than pop, 5 Chinese songs and 100+ japanese songs.. plus some Korean.. the rest are all instrumental <33
