Firstly: EEEEEEEEEEEEEE THEY HAVE IT AGAIN BASKIN ROBBINS BROUGHT BACK DAIQUIRI ICE EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!! This is, as you may have guessed, my FAVORITE ICE CREAM EVER and it's amazing and all sorts of good. The lemon ice that they had for a while (do they still have it? Didn't check) is pretty good too but has a sorta funky aftertaste. Or from what I remember, anyway, it's been a while since I've had it.
Anyway, now that that's over with.
Guess what everybody? Last Thursday Hogle Zoo, which is the zoo in Salt Lake aka my local zoo, got a new addition. One of the giraffes gave birth to a new little giraffe. He's adorable, I want to go see him. If any of you care the article is
here. I grabbed a few pictures of him anyway, and shall put them here. He's tiny!
Well. You know. For a giraffe.
Seriously. One way or another I will MAKE my way to that zoo. And bring my sketchbook. And then I'll have to scan drawings and show them to you people. Maybe possibly I might perhaps be going Monday, since I haven't managed to find work yet and so really don't have much to do but like. Pick up applications and stuff.
Speaking of work - it looks like I might be able to get my old job as a Costco sample person back, but possibly not my job at the dry cleaners, to which I go T_T - I loved my job at the dry cleaners. And Barnes and Nobles still isn't hiring, again, which is sort of making me start to wonder how the heck I managed to get the job in the first place back when I was 18 or however old. Yeah, now that I think about it, I would have been 18. Jeez though, they're like never hiring. Ever.
The library is never hiring anyone ever either, and that would be a fun place to work too. *sigh*
Speaking of the library, I am apparently physically incapable of leaving that building without at least 11 books in tow. No, really. Today, for example, I went there simply to pick up my items that were on hold (two whole books [on CD], woo) and to grab my mom's books, which she asked me to pick up too.
I walked out those doors with 20 things. TWENTY. I have maxed out my card limit of 35 in less then a week of being home. 8|
And then, on the subject of books, ONE LAST THING!
IF YOU HAVE NOT read: The Bartimaeous Trilogy (Jonathan Stroud; first book The Amulet of Samarkand), The Fablehaven series (Brandon Mull; first book Fablehaven), ANYTHING AT ALL BY DIANA WYNNE JONES (recs: Howl's Moving Castle; Dark Lord of Derkholm; the Chrestomanci Chronicles... actually no really, basically anything), The Young Wizards series (Diane Duane; first book So You Want to Be a Wizard), The Artemis Fowl series (Eoin Colfer; first book Artemis Fowl), The Dark is Rising sequence (Susan Cooper; first book Over Sea, Under Stone but you could also start with The Dark is Rising if you want, the order of the first two doesn't matter so much), or more or less anything by Garth Nix (recs: The Abhorsen Trilogy, first book Sabriel; The Keys to the Kingdom series, first book Mister Monday)... anyway, yeah, any of those?
If you have not read them then you are missing out on something great. Just sayin.
Also if you are, as I am, sort of a fan of reality bending fluffy stuff every once in a while? Avalon High and The Mediator Series by Meg Cabot are excellent.
K, that's basically all.
T_T I want the fifth ace attorney game to be translated already, I want teenage Franziskaaaaaaaaa.
