Damn, I'm Pleasantly Surprised...
So I went on a rebound date with Karina-girl today *snerks*, and we saw Underworld 2. Now, a couple of months ago, I stated that the original blew monkey chunks and they had absolutely no business making a sequel.
I officially take that back. Underworld 2 was fucking awesome.
The plot was awesome, there were some great twists, and the acting was a million percent better the second time around. Since vamps and werewolves are my geek (ha!) genre, it's a lot of fun to see it up on the big screen.
And holy thighclench, Batman, the love scene! First, Selene and Michael are both hot, which is always good when you have to see them naked. But the scene itself was just awesome. It's like something you'd read in a hot romance novel. The passion, sensuality, and feeling in the scene was palpable. A lot of kissing, caressing, skin-on-skin, and eye contact, which I think a lot of directors (and writers, if I can be frank) tend to overlook.
I guess I was a little bug-eyed afterward, because Karina was like, "Heh, I told you!" XD
I had a lot of fun today -- it's always great to get together with the girlfriends, especially after stupid man crap.
