Watching a Spanish film called "Butterfly" (Marisposa) and the translation is horrible x.x Theres a part where theyre dictacting a poem line by line, and I can understand wanting to translate the poem into english but seriously its like...
Una tarde - a cold
varde - gray (? not sure on this word, but its definately not gris)
y fria - winter
de inverino - afternoon
So yeah, the english translation is a cold gray winter afternoon, but the literal translation is something like an evening gray (?) and cold of winter.
The first poem that was read, it was read in stanzas, so it made sense to translate it loosely, but man, if youre going to have something translated one word at a time, translate it literally x.x
