Did you meet any new friends this year?
I count my coworker Katy as a friend. She's super nice, and silly.

Yes. The one that was my draw to move here. I loved her, but I'm learning to let go.

I think I'm going to delete this question going forward. What constitutes a fight?

2016 Holidays...
Did you have a Valentine?
Yeah! We saw Spirited away at the Alamo Drafthouse!
Did the Easter bunny visit you?
No, not this year.
Did you watch fireworks on the 4th of July?
No. We both worked, no plans.
Did you dress up for Halloween?
No.
What did you do for Thanksgiving?
A normal Thanksgiving fair. Ate too much food at home.
Where were you for Christmas?
At home, with Demian. Also ate too much food.
Did you receive what you wanted?
I didn't know what I wanted. But I got stuff I didn't even know I needed in my life, like an automatic sand writer and a Star Trek lamp!
2016 Your BIRTHDAY!
Did you have a cake?
No, no cake this year. I think the huge one Mari got me last year still made up for the lack of this year, haha.
What did you do for your birthday?
A lot of the celebration was delayed because I wasn't feeling well. (Lady times.) Daymo and I had a lovely sushi dinner.
Did you get any presents?
A few! My friend from work, Trish, makes blankets, and she made me a TMNT blanket - the old cartoon style! I also got a guitar, but I've largely given up on it. My parents got me 2 pop vynals from my wishlist - Groot & Michaelangelo! And Antoine gave me Song of the Sea. Lovely movie. Erika gave me a stuffed squirrelfox. <3

Happiest Memory?

Saddest Memory?
Actual saddest? As pathetic as it sounds, a Game of Thrones episode reeeaaally got to me. "Hold the door!"
Scariest Memory?
Election night. No joke.
Biggest Accomplishment?
Having managed to save up enough money that it looks like we may actually be able to afford to move from this state on schedule! We were actually a little had of our financial time table, but the holidays and December vacation have slipped us up a little. But nothing that can't be fixed. :)
2016 All about YOU...
Did you change at all this year?
I don't know, honestly. Things haven't been as dire ever since we set up a savings plan in February. I might just be in a holding pattern, for better or worse. I don't have much of a drive to do anything.
Was 2016 a good year?
For me, it doesn't seem to stand out as particularly good or bad. But in the broader sense, it was a very bad year. Earlier this year, I wrote a paper journal entry about politics and the state of the country and the US, and things are a mess. And they're only going to get worse with our new President. Not to mention all the celebrity deaths this year. :(
Did 2016 bring any new insights?
How royally screwed up the electorial college is. I've been whining about it since the first election I was able to vote in, 2000. But the disparity between popular and electorial college is way worse that I thought. Dangerously so, it turns out.
Do you think 2017 will top 2016?
Oohhhhh, I hope so! I hope I can say 2017 is the year I escaped Texas! And was able to be closer to my family and CA friends. But even if not, early 2018 will be a lot closer! ;)
Do you have any goals for 2017?
Get out of this state! And get a new job in the meantime, even if it's still within the same company.
Do you wish 2016 wouldn't end?
No. It's time for a new start.
Do you plan to do anything special for NYE 2016?
Just stay home with Daymo. Watch the ball drop at midnight.
