Sooo Monday was a holiday. I had forgotten about that until the parental unit reminded me of that on this past Friday. After all, I still had school to attend on Monday. So I was wondering if I would have to show up to work
Saturday I called the manager of my center ... and left a message. I left all the pertinent information - my name, the center I worked at, my phone number, etc. I also noted that the phone went straight to voicemail, so I inferred that the cell phone (knowing it was, in fact a cell phone) was probably off.
Sunday, I called again ... and left a message. This time I noticed it rang. Which means it was more than likely turned back on since my last call.
Monday before work, I called yet again, about 45 minutes before I had to be at work. I didn't leave a message this time.
Showed up to work aaaaaaand .... *cues drumroll* ... the gates were locked. And the parking lot was deserted.
Ok. I went with the flow and it ended up worked out for the better.
Today - Tuesday - went to work and .... yet again, the gates were lock.
Now I'm irritated. I wish someone had told me what was going on. I just checked the local school district's website and apparent they're on "President's Break" for the rest of the week. I can only assume that means no work for me for the rest of the week.
That's fine, I just wish I knew about it ahead of time.
