**I'm applying for jobs. It's a pretty daunting task, as I don't have the most experience in the fields I'm looking at. There's one that I really would like to land, and it's right up my alley with what I want to do in the area I want to be in, so keep those good juju vibes headed my way.

**My cats are awesome. Most cats are pretty cool, but I'll laugh if anyone says that cats are solitary, non-social creatures. Mine have been following me everywhere I go in the house--if I'm in the bedroom, they're laying on the bed--if I'm in the kitchen, they're hanging out. Sitting on the couch? They're sitting on me. It might have something to do with the fact that I feed them and lavish many scritches upon their noggins, but I think they're just catching up with me since I was gone all day.

**Movies. Where do I start? I've been seeing a lot lately, both in theatres and at home. My thoughts on a few:
Knocked Up will be added to my media library ASAP. What a funny movie! Judd Apatow can do no wrong!
The Wind that Shakes the Barley made me very, very sad, and deeply disturbed. That's the stuff my father's mother lived through--the Black and Tans came to her town, dragged every male out of their houses, stripped them down, and even drove a truck over one of them. How fucked up is that?
Spider-Man 3 disappointed me, even though it was pretty exciting.
The Queen was utterly fantastic--I totally see why Ms. Mirren nabbed the Oscar. Splendid, eerily realistic portrayl.
The Waitress was sweet, but a bit more jarring than I anticipated.
The Notebook was entertaining, but I think it was overhyped.

I have plans to see many, many more. I never went to the movies very much until the past year. It's kind of a pricey venture, but we have a wonderful movie house (The Spectrum) that pulls in all sorts of indie flicks.

**I am enamored with the NY Times Opinion section.

**...I think that's all I have time for now. Tally ho!

work, films, cats
