Lol. In hindsight, I think it had more to do with rebounding off two scotches and half a bottle of pinot noir and a sudden attack of inspiration. But yes, impending deadline was definitely a factor in my decision to get up and write rather than try and go back to sleep. ;-)

I learned to heed those calls a while ago. Inevitably, if I'm absolutely sure I can remember how I planned to write something six hours later after a full nights sleep, I will be sitting at my computer the next morning drawing a total blank.
