Here is a copy of my final painting.
Note: there is also a 2 inch white border that I cut off when I cropped it.
It's Stephen Colbert and it's him as the Ringmaster for the political circus.
So this was created for my Intermediate Illustration class. The way it was created was a step by step process. First I did thumbnails and then a tight valued tonal drawing. That was followed by copying my full scale drawing onto illustration board. The illustration board was sealed with matte medium and then I covered it in the medium tone of my five-tone color palette. From there I worked backwards to the darkest color, layering and tinting it in the darker colors before adding in the greenish highlights.
So yeah. All together it took me 35 hours to create this, including the 8 hours of in-class time.
