(no subject)
The sun woke me up this morning and it felt like a minor miracle. Before this weekend, my town has gotten 4 hours of sunshine during all of November. I'm blaming it for all lack of productivity lately.
Finally caught up on Merlin! A few things on 2x09 and 2x10:
- I'm amused by the genre skipping - one week of Doomed Young Love with a side dish of mystical creature, one week of cracky Shakespearean comedy, and then it looks like we'll be heading back to the land of Legendary Angst soon.
- The gender!fail is so frustrating. But I'm focusing on the total awesome of Gwen instead - the role reversal of that Gwen/Arthur True Love's Kiss had me flailing madly with happiness, and the scene where she takes control of the issues between them and dismisses him in a very queenly way (while curtsying and appearing deferential, too!) was fantastic.
- Gwen-related thought #2: I do definitely have a thing for awesome characters who break my heart with their quiet hurt.
- So much love for lovesick Arthur and Vivienne. Their faces. Comic gold.
- It feels like Arthur and Merlin's interaction keep getting closer to how I imagine them through the season, while Gwen and Morgana's relationship slips further away all the time. :/ Definitely buying the idea that Morgana was drunk during that scene in 2x10.
