Like anytime, I hope you could look back,
Before all the things I have seen with you become memories

He stares at the intersection. Lights have change from red to green to yellow to red a thousand of times and he still there standing. His mind too far gone, eyes blank, heart beating slowly. Scenes of the last time he saw his love one plays eternally in his head.

His eyes started to get watery, his hands grasping thin air and just the picture of his back. Yunho couldn’t make himself stop him; that would be a crime. But he never wanted for all of the kisses, hugs, words, touches turn into mere memories. Yunho closes his eyes letting the tears flow down of his face, making invisible scars on his heart.

Yunho could only wish for him to comeback or maybe just to look back, for the benefit of the doubt, just a lie, a little white lie that he cares.

But it didn’t happen. Yunho turns around leaving the memories to lie were they should be, in the back of his mind, and went on with his life with a very bad bandage heart.

So Yunho starts to love busy days with not enough time to even eat. He loves work or more like he finds himself loving how he stop thinking about him when he is at work. Yunho enjoys hectic nights going for a business dinner to a night out party that includes a lot of drinks, music, lights and never a time to think.

But Yunho truly hates lazy Sundays and workless nights. There’s too much time in his hand and in his head. There’s too much space in his heart to dwell in the past, too many memories crawling back to his life.

Those days he can’t have it. Yunho can’t deal with loneliness. He can’t deal with painful memories.

He can’t deal with the yearning. The longing that’s eating him from the inside out. And he fights the urge to call him, to grab his phone and dial the numbers he knows so well. He bites his lips in fear that he is gonna scream his name, calling desperately for his love to come. Those days everything is a nightmare and everything hurts more that it should hurt.

Yunho starts bringing part of his work to his house, especially on the weekends, like a kid goes to his parent room when he is scared. Work turns to be Yunho’s safety blanket. Times goes by and every caress is replace by a new project. Every kiss is replaced by ten folders. Every hug is replaced by economic reports. Every memory is replaced by work until he stop remembering how Yoochun looks like.

I wish I could fall asleep to the caress of your voice,
Even on the nights we can’t meet, it’s like you are embracing me.

Yunho sees Yoochun after five long painful years and he finds that he looks just fine. Like those years never had an effect over Yoochun’s appearance. Yunho smiles as best as he can when he walks by Yoochun and tries very hard not to choke when he sees, in return, again that lovable goofy smile.

His meeting goes smoothly and his clients seem happy until the piano starts. Every person in the room stare in a daze at the music Yoochun is producing from the black and white keys. Yunho’s chest feels like it’s gonna crush within himself. He feels like he has gone crazy and like a painful sudden headache all of his memories hit him.

Yunho wants to cry, wants to scream, wants to shake Yoochun and ask for reason. But he just stays freezing cold like a statue until the music ends and he excuses himself from the table saying his goodbyes and have a nice nights to his clients.

Yunho looks back for the last time and Yoochun is far gone already.

He walks to his car to find Yoochun leaning on the side of his car. Yunho takes a deep breath and grabs the keys of his car. “How are you?” Yoochun asks face looking straight to the empty parking lot. Yunho looks at Yoochun and then stares at the floor “As fine as I can be”.

Yoochun smiles and looks at Yunho “I’m glad you are”. Yunho waits a few seconds hoping for something, anything at all and when it didn’t come he opens the car door and when he is about to get in two arms wraps around his waist. A very warm Yoochun is press onto his back a small sigh slips from Yoochun’s mouth.

Yunho breathes in and out trying to calm himself, trying to tell his hand not to touch him. They stay like that for a long time and it is Yoochun who unwrap his arms from Yunho’s and step back.

“I miss you” Yoochun whispers “I miss you too” and Yunho fall.

You are you because you fly freely,
Find the answer that,
No one else can know.

The next morning Yunho wakes up to find his bed empty, a single note rest on his pillow. ‘I love you’ quickly recognizing Yoochun’s handwriting. Yunho leaves his bed and goes to the bathroom. He turns the cold water and steps in. Eyes closes, back resting on the tiles, slipping slowly, crying silently.

Yunho tries to find Yoochun but didn’t succeed so he decides to start clean. He asks to his boss for a transfer to another place. His boss agrees only if he goes to a work trip to Japan first and Yunho agrees too.

Yunho didn’t expect to be greeted by posters and billboards of Yoochun. Every single corner of Japan has Yoochun face, played Yoochun songs, every single person talked about Yoochun.

Yunho spend his alone time inside of the hotel room, curtains draw closes, lights out. His client as a gift for the wonderful work gave him a ticket to the concert of Yoochun saying that since they were from the same country they thought it might be good. Yunho accept it gratefully and almost run back to the hotel.

Yunho dwell with the idea of going but every time he thought of smacking himself mentally for thinking it. At the very end, Yunho did go.

The concert was beautiful and it brought a lot of memories to Yunho. Yunho even recognize one of the songs, he remembers it because that song was the first time he heard Yoochun play and sing.

So Yunho walks out of the concert with his new find determination. When Yunho arrives back he ask his boss where they are gonna move him. “You are going to the United States” Yunho’s boss informs him. He has a week to prepare everything for his departure. He tells his parents and friends and they are all happy for him. He sells his apartment and goes back to the place he saw Yoochun after so long.

The owner of the place told him that Yoochun goes back there every now and then when he has time. Yunho nods and asks with a very good tip to give a little piece of paper the next time he goes there. After a nod Yunho walks out of the place with his bags and hail a cab to the airport, remembering the words on the note.

Goodbye
