Not my best piece, but I'm working on too little sleep and Spades wanted me to write.

Title: Lucky So and So
Word Count:633
Pairing: Havoc/Fury
Summary: Um, domestic crap fluff.

When Fury stepped in the front door he was assaulted by a rush of warm air, the smell of pot roast, and the sound of jazz. Home. There really wasn't anything better than stepping out of the autumn-chilled air and stress of the day and into the warm entryway and the promise of good food and better company.

Havoc, his Havoc. Fury still wasn't quite sure what he'd done to deserve him, but he thanked every god and lucky star he could think of that he didn't have to come home to an empty flat every evening.

Cain shut and locked the door and hung his coat and scarf next to the larger ones already on the coat rack. It was just getting cold enough for scarves, and Cain fingered the heavy wool as he hung his up. It had been a present from Jean's mother when they'd visited the Havocs over the winter holidays last year. Mrs. Havoc had treated Cain like nothing less than an adoptive son, and Mr. Havoc had laughed good-naturedly at Cain's fascination with the farm's animals and even let him have one of the puppies they'd had at the time.

Speaking of Mollie, the now almost-full-grown golden retriever mix trotted up to greet Cain and he indulged her few ear scratches.

"Cain," Havoc called from the kitchen, "that you?"

"Nope," Fury replied happily, "it's a burglar."

Havoc chuckled, "Dinner'll be ready in a few minutes."

"It smells delicious," Fury replied from the living room, where he was checking up on the gerbils and the budgie.

The song on the radio, a fast paced number with an over-excited saxophone and lazy trumpet, finished and the DJ's voice came on: "That was Better Get Hit in Yo' Soul by Charles Mingus. Next we have the lovely vocals of the ever-talented Diana Krall with I'm Just a Lucky So and So."

When I walk down the street
Seems everyone I meet
Gives me a friendly hello.
I guess I'm just a lucky so and so.

Fury got up and hurried into the kitchen. This was their song, and they had promised each other that no matter where they were, when their song came on, they would dance to it.

The birds in every tree
All sing so merrily
They sing wherever I go.
I guess I'm just a lucky so and so.

Havoc was leaning against the counter, grinning that doggy grin that Cain fell in love with years ago. The taller man was slouching, not his shoulders or back, but slouching in his knees, and it made him look relaxed without looking slovenly. Just another of the many quirks that made Havoc irresistible.

Well if you should ask me the amount in my bank account
I must confess that I'm slipping,
But that don't bother me, cause confidentially
I've got a dream that's pippin.

Havoc pushed away from the counter and wrapped his arms around Fury, the two of them dancing in the middle of the kitchen. Fury buried his face in Havoc's warm chest, inhaling the smells of cigarette smoke, sweat, and some unidentifiable spice that clung to Havoc. He wrapped his arms up around the taller man's back and held his shoulders, feeling perfectly relaxed.

And when my day is through,
Each night I hurry to
A love that's faithful I know.
I guess I'm just a lucky so an so.

"I love you," Havoc mumbled into Fury's hair and Fury hugged him tighter.

"I love you too," he mumbled into Havoc's chest, then leaned up for a kiss.

Sitting in a warm dining room looking across the table and over a delicious home cooked meal at the handsomest man alive, Fury was quite convinced that he was the luckiest so and so around.
