exhilarating things:
  • hanging out with jamie, listening to music and sharing a friday beer
  • catching up with dave over hot chocolate, a motorcycle ride to the mountain and buying the last blueberries of the season
  • when dave arrived,
  • going for a walk around the neighborhood with my mum and having supper with my parents
  • talking to emese about music and the objectification of women, blurred lines, and defining terms
  • participating in courteous mass: it was amazing to ride, united. it felt safe and liberating and fun. what a gorgeous night. (though i did stop and turn back)
  • attending fall harvest
  • improv: it's challenging for me! i like the physicality, but i'd like to get better at keeping the energy high and at tapping into storytelling on the fly
  • so, i let a stranger crash on my couch and we became friends. a young korean fella named cook who arrived into the city about 20min before we met. he asked dave as he pulled up to my apt. for camping spot suggestions. and then i opened my mouth. and then i learned about him. he shared two things he has learned so far on his journey 1. the power of positivity and being ok with the unknown 2. don't hesitate to do things. when i got back from my ride with dave, cook and i shared blueberries, and i made some late supper and we drank tea and then went to sleep
  • my neighbour is 104 years old. we signed a big card i coloured and presented it to him this afternoon
  • trying improv
what i love about improv:
  • the people
  • the supportive and creative space to play
  • creating something out of nothing
  • building an experience with each other and working with each other as a story changes directions
  • a process
  • letting go and going with the flow
  • encouraging play and breaking down the barriers to connecting
  • saying "yes" and the power of "no"
