Events - A series of coming outs

May 18, 2012 00:09

Monday:
prev. boss: "Where'd you come from?"
me: "The forest" I emerged from the dirt path of the woods by the church at work
prev. boss: "Sounds about right"
me: "How was the (Calgary) reunion?"

Tuesday:
me to present boss: "Breathing?"
present boss: Long pause. "Barely."

Today:
me to colleague who is emerging from her closed office: "Sorry. I hope I'm not making too much noise."
[Hallway]: I'm packing and shuffling event supplies from a tiny closet

colleague: "Oh not at all. I was just surprised to see you there. It looked like you were coming out of a closet"
me: "Oh. Well, I did." Inside I am laughing, heartily - we both laugh for a brief seconds.

colleague: "I've forgotten where I was going"
me: "It happens to me everyday"

me: "Dad, I can't make 3:30 because we're going to setting up. Can you come earlier to pick up my cheque?" I put in the sum into investments
dad: "Where will you be?"
me: "I don't know. I really don't know. Running around."
My mum and dad picked up my cheque to give to our financial advisor ... and brought me dumplings and stickyrice pouch. I gave them a huge hug and then I said: "See you in 4 weeks"

I'm excited to have dinner with them and my sister tomorrow. I was feeling pretty stressed out last week, just needing a day-off which I got and Sarah was visiting so her visit and her coming to hang out and stay with me made me feel really happy. My sister visited this evening - I caught her at work when I was biking from groceries and she made me a delicious drink and I gave her gummi treats and goldfish; she came over to hang out and see my apartment for the first time and we played with the cat, we talked and schemed, she ranted, we ate ice-cream and then sat in her car at the marina; it was really great.

I got approved to go to Orillia convocation! Maybe I can extend my stay and visit my friends in the GTA. This is a good sign probably that I am doing ok at my job. My boss and I haven't had time to talk about my performance review/probation period which has passed because we're so busy. I like it- informalities, little initial details - just concept, always very, very immediate and intense criticism and constant pressure to do the best and get things right.
This is my life in the next 4 weeks, in timeline and I'm in love with all of it:
