[The post flickers on, but Umi is nowhere in view. What the camera does record is blurry and a little shaky, but clearly there's an attacker -- small, blond, but otherwise the post is a little hectic and chaotic; it's hard to tell what's going on. In fact, it's hard to think that the video is intentional at all ( Read more... )

Gilgamesh is just a little bit bothered that Ed's managed to get away from him. One way or another, the midget had managed to escape Gilgamesh's line of sight before the wall he raised was promptly brought down.

He probably ducked underneath a brick or something, but, there was something just slightly more pressing at the moment. So, well aware that the blue-haired magical girl a short distance away is probably well on her way to bleeding out and dying, Gilgamesh returns to her, picking up Dainsleif on the way. Hey, it's the sword he attacked you with last time, Umi! ]

That rat's managed to escape.

[
Gilgamesh grabs hold of her arm, lifting her up a little bit to stop her from falling ]

That sword isn't of much use if you cannot even defend yourself with it.

[Yeah, okay, dying is a major exaggeration, you jerk. She recognizes that sword, and while she's not exactly in great fighting condition, she tenses automatically. If this guy wants a piece of her, he'll be asking for a fight!

She's not surprised when he grabs her by the arm -- in fact, she's reaching for the hilt of her sword. But she is surprised when he seems to be...helping her up?

...

But...still. She pulls her arm away, wincing a little but determined not to show weakness to a creep like this.]

I was doing just fine!

It is totally not. You can hardly stand.

He's actually a bit offended when Umi pulls her arm away. Here he is, going out of his way to help her, and she's being all huffy and bothersome? Gilgamesh responds by practically lashing out, taking hold of her arm again. She's pulled closer to him, his grip much tighter this time. ]

You were about to be killed. I'm bringing you to the hospital.

[
It's a good thing that he'd swiped the sword a few times earlier to throw Ed's bleed all over the ground. It's stuck into the chain around his torso before he turns his attention back to Umi. Yanking her into him by her arm, he hoists her up, an arm underneath her legs and another underneath her back, before he starts to walk ]

[I CAN TOO STAND. Ignore that wobbling, it was totally nothing.

Admittedly, being that close to him makes her nervous. He's like a loose cannon, in her mind, with how unpredictable he seems. Going back and forth between helping and hurting...just makes her confused. She doesn't shrink back though, and she doesn't flinch, even though his hand is tight around her arm. She keeps her expression calm, focused. It's actually helping block out the pain, too.]

Killed--! Yeah, right, you would think it'd be that easy to-- ack!

[And suddenly she's hoisted into his arms, but it's by no means gently -- she immediately begins struggling. If there's anything she doesn't want, it's help from this guy...!]

I'm telling you, I'm fine!

He seems to confuse a lot of people with how he does that. Really it's just a strange... conditional sort of thing that's also affected by his mood at the moment. Regardless, he doesn't have any intentions to harm her.

She's doing that thing, though. That same thing Tohsaka does. That thing where she tries to act cool, calm, and collected.

She's also doing the same thrashing about that Saber does whenever he carries her. Nowhere near as strong as a Servant, though, and hindered further by her injuries, Gilgamesh doesn't have any trouble keeping her in his arms.

Although.

Dropping her doesn't sound like too bad of an idea. ]

You cannot even stand under your own strength.

Stop your whining.

[She's starting to notice that --that he's not planning to hurt her-- but...that's just confusing. Why--?

The cool, calm, collected look doesn't serve her well, not for long, at least. It's not exactly part of her nature to sit back and take something like this! The struggling isn't doing a whole lot of good, but it makes her feel better, at least. Or so her head is saying, because honestly, it can wear a person out.]

Whining?! I'll show you, you-- urgh!

[Continue to struggle she may, however, escape she might not. This is definitely frustrating.]

You know, I'm bringing you to the hospital so that you don't end up another corpse in the street.

[
Gilgamesh stops, raising just her upper-body a little so that their faces are closer. The two are not that close, but now at least he's not looking straight down at her. He looks serious, but not as though this is some kind of dire situation. His expression is more annoyed than anything else. ]

Unless you'd rather I leave you here; I've no problem letting you die if that's what you want.

[This is definitely not a situation she's happy with, or even okay with. And all this talk about dying-- it's ridiculous!]

I'm fine. I can get there on my own, too!

[She's got a stony look on her face when he starts shoving her around, but even that can't totally hide the wince as her wound gets agitated a bit. For a second --just a second-- she wonders if she's being way too stubborn about it. Or maybe she's just trying to do better than last time. Last time... almost a full year ago.

Part of her wants to really fight it then, to get there on her own. But Hikaru's worried face is just enough to knock a little common sense into her...maybe. She sighs a little, resigned.]

... But in this case, I guess I should be saying 'thanks for your help.'

That brings the oh-so-familiar, infamously spectacular, and absurdly arrogant smirk back to Gilgamesh's face. It's a satisfying sentence to hear from Umi, and after shifting her about one more time, he starts walking again. The arm underneath her back is higher, now, his hand around her shoulder. He seems to have sped up his pace from before. ]

That's better.

[
No Umi, you do not get a 'you're welcome' ]

[That's better. What the heck is that supposed to mean...?! She almost starts protesting again, just on principle, because boy does he make her angry...!

But if she got herself hurt any worse, Hikaru would worry, and that was the last thing Umi wanted. So she grits her teeth and forces herself --and it really does take some force, at this point-- not to make a fuss.]

Yeah, yeah.

Gilgamesh simply continues on towards the hospital, content with the situation. She's settled down and doesn't seem to be whining anymore, either! It's definitely better when she's being quiet.

Though.

It does get kind of boring kind of quickly, and so! Our dashing Golden King of Heroes decides to strike up a conversation. ]

What were you doing alone if you cannot defend yourself? It seems that rat earlier has been killing many people lately.

[
With a bit of Gilgamesh-brand jackassery ]

[She was perfectly fine not arguing until that question.]

I can look after myself! I just--

[... He looked like a person. Like Alphonse's brother. She couldn't bring herself to hurt him -- not a person. She had hesitated.

...But she wasn't about to tell Gilgamesh that. This was humiliating enough without more taunting.]

I was with Prydain and Seifer...and Hikaru. We got separated...just for a minute, and I got ambushed.

[She's silent for a minute, frowning.] ...It's not like it was something as simple as some random monster.

Because-- [...] He...it. It didn't look like a monster. It looked like he was hurt, and then he caught me by surprise.

[She's very reluctant in saying any of this, and now she's waiting for that famous Gilgy-arrogance to rear its ugly head again.]
