Hold Me, Bat Boy

I GOT A CALLBACK FOR BAT BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In the theatre world I can't run around and scream about it, it's unprofessional, but LJ is not the theatre world, so...I GOT A CALLBACK FOR BAT BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The auditions were earlier this evening, and I majorly fucked up the music part - they taught us the music and then we sang it, and I got lost in the accompaniment and was so nervous I was a touch pitchy in my head voice, but chilled out when they tested my range and did okay. We read two-person scenes, and I was really happy with those, because they made us read once as one character and then as the other, and I got genuine laughs both times even though they were drastically different characters. The dance call, though, I'm particularly pleased with, not because I did such a bang-up job (I didn't, though I was surprisingly more on top of it compared to some others), but because I didn't suck! I acted while I was dancing, I got to pay attention to things like pointing my feet and making my lines pretty instead of just worrying about which way I was going...I'm really happy with how far I've come. I still have so far to go, it's not even funny, and I've only been in Tap I and Jazz I for less than two weeks, but it just makes me feel really good to see it paying off, to go to dance calls and maybe not WOW them, but not embarrass myself either. And, hey, I got a callback out of it!

All I want is to be in the ensemble of this play. It's going to be phenomenal, the set in a jungle gym, and my best friend is music directing (which has nothing to do with casting - we're great at separating our personal and professional lives, we didn't so much as wink or wave at one another during auditions), and...ugh. I want this so badly.
