AN: this is basically an unedited tweetfic I wrote for Flora as a silly bedtime story, and now I'm showing Sheep, so just... ignore... this...
Once upon a time, in a land far far away, there were two young princes.
They were close in age, and had grown up together.
But as all children do, the younger boy, Jongdae, always looked up to the older of the princes, Suho.
He would follow Suho all over the land surrounding the castle, quietly observing as Suho was slowly being groomed to be the next king.
Jongdae would gasp in awe as Suho excelled at his lessons, both academic and physical, performing feats of valor and bravery all while maintaining his wise and dignified side.
As the boys reached their teen years, they started to spend more time together, because as most age gaps do, the age difference between them became less noticeable.
Jongdae still looked up to Suho, and was there to comfort him when Suho was repeatedly told that he wasn't yet ready to rule his own land, and had to watch a younger boy take rule instead. (this land had many sub sections where different kings would take over).
Suho was very grateful for Jongdaes quick smile and quirky humor, as it helped him keep his smile on his face, knowing that at least one person thought he was good enough, Jongdae supported him and slowly he began to realize that Jongdaes support was all that mattered.
You see, they had slowly begun to fall in love.
But Suho began keeping Jongdae at a distance, not realizing the younger boys affections were the same as his own, and also fearing that one day they would be separated as they each went to rule their own land.
Suho would ignore Jongdae, and Jongdae would sulk around the castle looking like a rejected kitten.
This killed Suho, he missed the smile that used to easily grace Jongdaes handsome face.
But he feared his emotions would betray him if he got too close, and the distant relationship was better than a rejected one.
Surely is Jongdae knew how Suho felt, of the things he had thought, the things he had done while Jongdae had been on his mind, well, there's no way Jongdae wouldn't reject Suho.
So time passed, their relationship strained, and eventually Suho was chosen to rule a land as king!
There was a very large area of the kingdom being divided in two, to be managed by two kings, and Suho was glad to be going to another kingdom, to get distance between himself and Jongdae, because to be near him and yet not allowed to be /with/ him was painful.
Since the land Suho would be ruling was quite a distance away he knew that the likelihood of seeing Jongdae very frequently, if ever again, was a very low possibility.
So the night before he left, he snuck into Jongdaes room, observing the sleeping boy, well, man, and he had grown into a fine man to say the very least...
Anyways, when Suho was finished drooling over Jongdaes sleeping form, he sat on the edge of the bed, and poured out his heart to the sleeping Jongdae, pressed a chaste kiss to his lips, and left the room and the kingdom, leaving his heart forever with Jongdae.
Suho liked ruling his kingdom. He was wise and gentle, with a bit of Jongdaes quirkiness that had rubbed off in their years spent growing up together.
Suho was happy, mostly.
His heart still was with the one he loved, and his chest would ache with loneliness and the desire to see the other mans smile.
But he knew Jongdae just had to be happy, having heard he was a high prince of the other half of the kingdom Suhos had been divided from.
Suho never expected to see Jongdae again.
One night, Suho was pulled out of slumber by the feeling of warm breath on his face.
Since Suho is a king and always at risk of being murdered, his first reaction is to shove the intruder onto the floor and grab the heavy brass candlestick from his bedside table.
But as he brandishes the candlestick, "oww~ hyung you didn't have to shove me so hard!" rises from the intruders lips, in a slightly pouty voice that frequently haunted Suhos memories.
The intruder was none other than the man holding his heart captive.
Suho lowered the candlestick, and asked what Jongdae was doing in his bedroom in the middle of the night.
As Jongdae picked himself off of the floor he said "I'm returning something precious," and pulled Suho into his arms as he placed a very less than chaste kiss upon his lips.
And as he peppered the older with kisses he told Suho that he had heard Suho profess his love to him the night before he left, and Suho had taken Jongdaes heart with /him/ when he left.
Jongdae had worked to be put in charge in the closest kingdom possible.
And realizing they were in love with each other and too blind to have seen in, they lived happily ever after (and did the do a lot yep). ~fin. /ok that was dumb I'm sorry/
