I'd say go to Kongregate. It's a pretty good portal for flash games, and you can even create an account and get achievements. The neatest thing about it is they have a meta-game where you complete specific weekly challenges in their featured games to get cards to play with in their online CCG. The downside is their online CCG isn't that fun. It was a good idea, though! And even so, I've burned countless work hours on their various games.
There's also Free Realms, which is an MMO collection of minigames, most of which aren't all that fun, so there's that. It's still a darn sight better than Runescape, though, and its CCG actually seems pretty fun. Of course, I think the extra CCG cards may be one of the things you actually have to pay for, but I didn't explore it that far to find out.
A better free MMO is Dungeon Runners, which is sort of like an online Diablo. You have to pay if you want to gear up with purpz, but there's enough fun to be had here without paying to justify the free price
