not the above anon, but I thought I'd take a crack at this. Unfortunately I appear to have somewhat... botched the inclusion of the kink. I... hope this take on "secrecy" is all right? orz sorry. Also this anon has actually never written this pairing before, so uh... hopefully you aren't too disappointed. :V
He had things to do, ends to achieve, revenge to attain. Raven's list of things to be done did not include kissing a garrulous archer and shoving his hands up under his tunic to tweak nipples and force a moan out of the other boy's mouth. Neither did it include nibbling a trail down a toned chest and dipping his tongue into Wil's navel, but there he was doing it anyway.

He wasn't really sure when this began, or when his protesting against "Rave" as a form of address became little more than a token complaint, or even when he got bold enough to shove the archer down on his bedroll and suck at his neck while Wil gave just as good as he got, dexterous hands quickly divesting Raven of his shirt. It was risky anyway, doing this here in the darkness of Raven's tent when Lucius lay asleep in the next bedroll a mere two feet away; it was almost terrifyingly senseless to do this when they were in a war, when the next battle one or the other might fall and leave the other to come back to camp alone, to face an empty bedroll and the cold redistribution of his lover's weapons for his surviving comrades' use.

It had already happened to Rebecca after all, one day in camp with Nino teaching her to make berry necklaces and the next dead, her bows retrieved and restrung for Rath and Wil. Raven tried not to think about death or its possibility, though the thought arose often.

Wil, being who he was, misinterpreted Raven's reluctance to talk about their relationship at all for something else. "It's okay," he would say, and smile more brightly than the sun. "It can just... be our secret. I like you, Rave."

"Shouldn't you be going home and settling down with some girl you left at home?"

"Nah," was the answer. "I wanted adventure and I got it. Life's too short to not enjoy what you do. No one expects me to get married anyway."

Life was too short not to enjoy what you did, or what you had. Raven could appreciate the sentiment, anyway; he did appreciate the sentiment very much when he ground his hips down against Wil's. The brunet beneath him let out a gasp and a moan, muffled against his partner's shoulder.

Two feet away Lucius shifted in his sleep; Raven froze. Wil tugged him down gently, kissed the corner of his mouth. He pulled away to say something and Raven seized the opportunity to kiss him hard, drinking in the words before they could be heard and eventually Wil stopped trying to talk at all. They moved together in the darkness, lost in the rustling of covers and shed fabric and the sounds of bare skin sliding against skin.

Wil's hips snapped up faster against his until he arched under him; Raven swallowed his voice as it came, accompanying the hot stickiness splashed over their stomachs. Moments after Wil's body stopped shaking, the redhead found himself on his back in his bedroll with the brunet almost too eagerly licking his seed off of his stomach.

"Wha-" Raven began, forgetting the need to be quiet, and promptly bit his lip as Wil's tongue made it to his straining cock. It's over too fast, release overtaking him at two languid strokes of the brunet's tongue over his arousal. He'd barely managed to tug a warning on a lock of Wil's hair before he spilled into the other boy's mouth.

Wil pulled his mouth away from Raven's softening member, a thread of saliva lingering between the head and his tongue. The sight was almost enough to make Raven hard again, but fatigue won. Instead he pushed the brunet down again and returned the favor, laving his tongue over the other boy's taut stomach and lapping up the spattered traces of his pleasure.

With a faint smile Wil pulled him up into a kiss. Then he quietly dressed and stole out of Raven's tent.

The mercenary rearranged himself and lay back on his bedroll. In the morning Wil would grin at him and call him "Rave" and he wouldn't publicly dignify the nickname with a response.

In the morning they would pretend that they weren't doing this, that they didn't spend their nights tangled together, panting into each other's skin in an effort not to wake their tentmates. Wil would continue to smile and laugh and talk far too much; Raven would continue pretending that he didn't care nearly as much as he did.

But Rebecca had already died thinking that things would continue the way they had. That had been two days after their first clandestine tryst. Even when he'd insisted that he was fine Wil had been grieving, had been afraid.

Raven got up and toed on his boots.

"Lord Raymond?" Lucius asked, a touch too aware to have just woken up.

"Go back to sleep, Lucius," Raven answered.

---

"... Rave? You didn't go to sleep yet?" Wil sounded as if he couldn't decide between surprise or concern.

"We can talk about it. Or tell other people. If that's what you want."

"Rave, what's gotten into you?" Wil laughed quietly, mindful of waking the rest of the army.

"If you don't want to have to keep it a secret it's fine."

"The tactician probably already knows, though."

"That one doesn't miss anything. If you want to tell anyone else you can."

Wil studied him for a while, face illuminated by the half-moon overhead. "You're worried I'll die, aren't you?"

"..."

"I won't die that easily, Raven. It's okay. I won't die, okay?"

Raven didn't say anything. He pulled Wil close and held him, maybe a little too tightly.

The other boy kissed the corner of Raven's mouth and didn't say another word.

---

In the morning the tactician quietly re-diagrammed the tent assignments to switch Lucius and Wil.

dfsgffjgrtlsrfdty this was fantastic. Not only worked in pairing, but also my secret love of working the whole "oh hey we ARE at war" element in. Rebecca, and Raven's fear of losing Wil like that, it's just... this was so great, anon.
Can't help but feel a liiiiittle bad for Lucius, though. xD

fff hello OP, this is the writer anon. That was a fast response. ♥

Well, I'm glad you liked it, and also... yes. :V Poor Lucius. I... kind of wanted to have him more obviously awake during the, uh, rolling about in the bedroll, but it got kind of awkward fast so that version got scrapped ahaha.

... Perhaps his new tentmate will be a little more considerate?

Hey, another anon here. I just wanted to let you know that, prior to reading this fic, I hadn't even considered Raven and Wil as a pairing; now I totally ship it. Thank you for sharing such an awesome fic, anon, and for introducing me to the pairing! ♥
