Catelyn (book discussion includes HBO spoilers)

So I want to discuss somethings that have happened in the book but have NOT happened (yet) on the HBO version of Game of Thrones... so please don't read beyond the cut if you don't want to be spoiled big time for the TV version:

From what i remember, she almost died but has these terrible wounds on her throat. i don't remember her speaking but she gestured her wishes. It's a while since i read it - still working on the last one

Actually we are told repeatedly that Catelyn is dead (the most reliable witness being Arya's seeing her dead Mother through her direwolve's eyes & senses) but a lot of people end up thinking she only 'almost died' because she is raised from the dead. I've spent most of yesterday rereading it because I was curious about how there could be confusion: she is raised from the dead as a half rotted corpse, missing most of her throat (so unable to speak). I guess people just don't want to see zombie Catelyn? And what does it say about me that I had no trouble at all accepting her as the undead?

I'm looking forward to seeing her on HBO... but she may not show up this season (they are doing the 3rd book over two seasons on HBO, so I don't know where they'll draw the line....

I particularly loved the last book, Dances With Dragons... Reek is one of my favorite characters now. Reek, rhymes with leak.
