Five Positive Things
My friend shadowkat67 periodically posts her five positive things... and after the last election it is good for me to remind myself of the things that are going right (for me):
1. The weather has been awesome: cool and windy, but bright and sunny. It is Autumn at it's best with golden and red leaves still on the trees. This is what I missed in California (where we had mild weather year round, but we never had a crisp golden Autumn day).
2. I love my new place: I have plenty of space, with loads of storage, and a big bedroom which is very dark and quiet (ie it is away from the street lights... and the street), just the way I prefer.
3. The awesome books I've been enjoying: Terry Pratchett's I Shall Wear Midnight, and Jim Butcher's Side Jobs have made me really happy.
4. The really awesome TV shows I've been watching, have you seen any of Dexter S5? (awesome!), and Terriers was brilliant last night with the episode entitled 'Pimp Daddy' do NOT miss this!
5. Friends: I have a lot of friends who live here in Fairfield, really more than I can easily see every week... it is quite a nice problem to have!
Of course soon the snow and ice and hard freezes will make it difficult to go anywhere and do anything.... and of course THAT will be the point where there will be a trial that I'll have to go in for (I'm 'serving jury duty' right now... there aren't many trials here in Jefferson County so they arrange it by torturing us with potential jury duty for 3 full months!). But at the moment I'm enjoying (except when I think about politics).
