You know, I was channel surfing last night, and I did pass CNN, and saw they were showing a video of a woman on the ground, and I saw blood around her. I immediately changed, not wanting to see what it was. I've come to realize that the news media, while protesting violence, has no problem showing it on their network for ratings.

I now realize what I saw. How disgusting. I've never been able to understand why men, of any culture treat women in such a hostile way. Can't they get it into their thick skulls that if it were not for women, there would not be anyone here?

It's not the moral decay killing us all, its the indiference.

I really wonder more and more when I think about this...
because this is not something new, this hatred/fear of women has been recorded since the beginnings of history. And today it is not isolated to any one religion or geographic region, there is plenty of misogyeny to be found right here at home. So are we to believe that having men hate women is some part of our genetic make up as human beings? I can't believe that.

I can't wrap my brain around it. I can't understand where this hatred/fear comes from. It's all over, and its fundamentally rooted, in my opinion in religion.

Wouldn't it be a kick in the pants to all of these misogynistic men, if the all mighty is a woman?

one almost thinks She has to be, because of that creative/nurturing impulse...
at any rate it seems ridiculous to me that men only believe in the violent vengeful God.
This whole subject is so disturbing and depressing. But I have to love Joss for always diving right in....

I think its great that he's voiced such a strong opinion about it. I think more men should do the same. If they did, then things like what happened to that poor woman, would stop happening.

I think men just use religion as an excuse.

this makes me angrier than I can bear. I'm crying after reading this article. It breaks my heart every time I hear a story like this. Every. Single. Time.

I am glad that Joss uses his voice not just to promote his latest project, but to stand up against things like this. We need more people with louder voices than ours to stand up.

It was horrific what they did to that woman. And the really horrifying thing is, this kind of thing goes on all the time!

More men need to voice their outrage. I think most of them are afraid, thinking other men will think they are weak.

Which means it's up to us women to take up the banner. As always.

I swear, if we ran this world, there wouldn't be all this crap going on.
