Veronica Mars season 2
just came out on DVD last Tuesday, and I just watched the sixth disk tonight (borrowed from netflix) and I have to say once again (because I know I've said it before) what a brilliant show Veronica Mars is and what a brilliant young (okay, turns out he is the same age as Joss Whedon, but he looks way younger...) writer/creator/producer Rob Thomas is!

I have to include this because I love having pictures.

I had once described it as Nancy Drew if she lived in Twin Peaks, but it turns out Rob Thomas was thrilled by the description by the Village Voice, where they said it was Heathers meets China Town.

The delights of the sixth & final disk of the Season 2 DVD set is that in addition to the final two kick ass episodes they also have some fun extras.  One of the funnest being that Joss Whedon (who appeared in one episode playing a Car Rental Agent) was supposed to be berating an employee before Veronica walks into the scene...we can see him, but we cannot hear him, however they caught on tape the comic harranging monologue Joss was riffing at the other actor.  I wish I could transcribe it, but that would be too much work, suffice it to say that he is VERY funny, berating his employee for not realizing that car rentals are a necessity of life....
Oh wait!  Wouldn't you know it...I don't need to transcribe it, the gag real is here at YouTube!
Which of course leads me to find
a pretty good fan made music video of Veronica Mars (because you always find more vids when you look up one at YouTube).   Every time I go to YouTube I end up wasting spending an hour watching videos.  Like this lame romantic one about Veronica's epic love affair with Logan,  or this sappy one about Veronica's tragic love for Logan,  and from Logan's POV we have their star crossed romance.  I guess everyone ships Veronica and Logan, cause I'm not seeing any Ducan videos (thank heaven).
Although we do have some Weavil loving going on.

So next year we'll find out what was such a big deal that the perfect Father (Keith Mars) would disappoint his daughter by not taking her to NYC in order to look into Charisma Carpenter's brief case?  And can Weavil get out of jail?  And will anyone discover that Duncan had Aaron killed (and why exactly did he?  Is it really because Aaron kiled Lily, or did Aaron know a secret about Duncan?)?  Can Rob Thomas keep it up and keep it interesting?
I do wish they would include some commentaries on next year's DVDs, they complain they don't have time to get the DVDs ready w/commentary, but other shows do it...
