I tried making a meme but I'm guessing you have to use some code on there to get it to recognise your text input as an LJ username. As you can guess, I suck and so I don't know how you do it...could you please give me any hints?

If you're using the LJ-Friend object on the form, you need to call the text-input one "Username" without anything else. Then it picks that up as a username and takes the friends from there.
