Rare Occasion

Jul 16, 2009 17:37

I'm beginning to enjoy having the day off on weekdays. On a rare occasion like this to have a full day to myself while mum's at work, brother's in school and bf's in camp. I'll just be at home surfing the net (when I'm supposed to be completing my thesis that's long overdue), catching up on my bookworm fantasies with a cup of coffee (and Browdy) by my side or just paying off my sleep debt. It's been a while...

On days like these, the mind tends to ponder and wander about life. Too many transitions in my life forced me to move on so quickly. Moments of devastation or ecstasy just fires off like a bullet when the trigger is pulled without any warning. Many times I wish i could freeze and hold them back like in the movies. Unfortunately (or fortunately), reality grabs hold of me and pull me out of such turbulence faster than I could imagine. Praise the Lord.
Anywayl, I chanced upon an interesting music video by Oren Lavie and I'm liking it.  Simple lyrics, light-hearted music, Oren Lavie's whisperish voice and creative video. Another song I'm adding to my "Seat in Starbucks and watch the world go by" playlist! Here's the video, enjoy it. (:

Her Morning Elegance

Sun been down for days
A pretty flower in a vase
A slipper by the fireplace
A cello lying in its case

Soon she's down the stairs
Her morning elegance she wears
The sound of water makes her dream
Awoken by a cloud of steam
She pours a daydream in a cup
A spoon of sugar sweetens up

And She fights for her life
As she puts on her coat
And she fights for her life on the train
She looks at the rain
As it pours
And she fights for her life
As she goes in a store
With a thought she has caught
By a thread
She pays for the bread
And She goes...
Nobody knows

Sun been down for days
A winter melody she plays
The thunder makes her contemplate
She hears a noise behind the gate
Perhaps a letter with a dove
Perhaps a stranger she could love

And She fights for her life
As she puts on her coat
And she fights for her life on the train
She looks at the rain
As it pours
And she fights for her life
As she goes in a store
With a thought she has caught
By a thread
She pays for the bread
And She goes...
Nobody knows

And She fights for her life
As she puts on her coat
And she fights for her life on the train
She looks at the rain
As it pours
And she fights for her life
Where people are pleasently strange
And counting the change
And She goes...
Nobody knows
