Yesterday I had an experience that made me look at people differently. I lost my paycheck on the way to the bank. A bitch and a half, I know. My only consolation/hope was that it was destroyed and not found. God only knows what somone would do with it.
I had a long hike all over Cap Hill retracing my steps. So much so I was worn out I did not make the gym (I had a back pack with my gym gear in it so I think that was a work out...Falklands style!) but I felt like I worked out!
So as I settled in I heard a knock at my neighbors door. Not unusual because of the acoustics. A few minutes later I heard a knock that sounded like mine. I freaked! This is a controlled entry building so who the hell was it? Unannounced knocks are BAD BAD BAD! "They" are the only ones who knock for no reason. Cautiosly I went to the door and looked through the peephole. There was a young woman with a baby there. Normally I would freak but the baby did not look black in the slightest....check that off my threat list!
I opened the door and she asked "Mr. Mason?"
"Yeah."
"I found your paycheck and thought you might want it."
I could not believe it! She found it on the street and brought it back! She did not even want compenseation at all! So I have to change my veiws. People are not evil, but good people are outnumbered. I don't even want to drop napalm on Texas anymore....well a few grenades in choice locales but no carpet bombing.
