Finally, I have internet access...at the Hampton Inn...in Arlington, Virginia...
The past few days have been unbelievably hectic.
Rachel and I flew from Albuquerque to Chicago on Thursday for three days of wedding/family reunion festivities in the Windy City. Today we drove the 11 or so hours to Washington DC where we will bury our grandmother's ashes at Arlington National Cemetery tomorrow. I honestly didn't know it was possible to pack in so much family time into a single trip.
I really want to be alone right now, but hiding in the corner checking my email and f-list will probably be as good as it gets.
Whenever I travel with my parents I seem to revert to 5 years old, tantrums and all. It probably doesn't help that I had to quit smoking for the duration of this little expedition. I've been sucking on nicotine lozenges non-stop since we got on the plane, but I was still ready to chew the upholstery in the mini-van during our drive today. ::must not take irritabilty out on family::
I was offline for 18 days in June and finally got my cable internet installed less than a week before I left. Unfortunately, I also worked at the restaurant for 7 days straight before my vacation, so I had very little time to enjoy my new super-fast connection.
I wish that some part of this trip was relaxing, cause I have a shit ton of work to do when I get home. ::sighs:: I swear after nationals is over, I will go on a real vacation.
