Pretty sad. He never recovered from his acid induced breakdown.

July 11 (Bloomberg) -- Roger Keith ``Syd'' Barrett, a
founding member of British rock band Pink Floyd, has died from
symptoms related to diabetes, the Guardian said on its Web site,
citing his brother Alan.
Barrett, who was 60, died on July 7 at his home in
Cambridgeshire, England, where he had retreated more than 30
years ago after suffering a psychedelic drug-fueled breakdown,
the newspaper reported.
``He died peacefully at home,'' the Guardian cited his
brother as saying. ``There will be a private family funeral in
the next few days.''
Barrett, who was better known by his nickname ``Syd,'' left
Pink Floyd in 1968 and recorded two solo albums. The band's hit
``Wish You Were Here'' is widely regarded to be a dedication to
him, the Guardian said.
``I just don't think he could deal with the vision of
success and all the things that went with it,'' the newspaper
cited Dave Gilmour, Pink Floyd's guitarist, as saying.
