So I went to the podiatrist today to get my feet checked out. I've had problems with my feet itching and peeling for the last year or so and had always thought I just had really bad atheletes foot. However, according to Dr. Wamack, if I'd already used Diflucan and Lamisil without any result, it probably wasn't athletes foot. It was at point that she decided to take a biopsy. No big deal...I mean, I'm a big girl right? Maybe not so much. Dr. Wamack is pretty young, but I don't think that she'd really ever done a biopsy on a foot before because I heard her outside the exam room talking to somebody on the phone about what to do. Uhhhh...Emily starts to panic. First off, she has to numb my foot. She sprayed my foot with this like cold-air spray when she was putting the needle in. She decided to take the sample off of the side of my left foot below my pinky toe. Getting the numbing shot hurt like HELL! It stung a lot...I get all shaky just at the thought. After I got all numbed up, she took this little device that must have had a blade in it and cut out a 2-3 mm piece of my skin. She then bandaged me up (with a purple adhesive tape because I was wearing my purple Mu Phi T-shirt). I've been hobbeling around for the rest of the day. I didn't take a shower before I went to the doctor, and I couldn't bathe after the biopsy, so I had to have my mom wash my hair in the kitchen sink.
My foot doesn't really hurt that much when I'm just sitting around, but when I start walking a lot I get little stabing pains. Ouch. It's all rather funny in reality. I told Laura I had to have a biopsy done and she thought I had cancer in my foot. Thank GOD that's not the case!!!! Hopefully I'll know what's wrong when I go back to the doctor next week!
